Bought :D will add the White stitch detailing to them

I decided to redo my original pendant, but when with the same jewel as I had for
My first pendant a 60mm swarovski sun catcher, as it seems to be the closest jewel you can buy to represent the pendant. Quiet pricelt but worth it as this jewel shines multicoloured when in the light.

The crown to sit ontop of the jewel is being commisioned by darkiekun Cosplay <3

Once the braids were glued down I cut the excess ribbon off and cut all the excess hair left hanging at the ends. I then put the wig on and cut the fringe, I hate the fact she has a box fringe. I then cut the fringe to my length to complete the front of the wig. I still have the back bottom braid to do but that's the easy part left of this wig XD

Ok so got my wig from coscraft. Must say disappointed, it's not very thick and had to move hair around to cover the wig cap showing through. But with Ayacon being this week I can't get a replacement wig.

So I started with the braids first. Now zelda s braids are nice and thick and with all wigs there nowhere near thick enough to do thixk braids. So the options were add millions if wefts till stupidly thick or stuff do e in between the braids and hidden with the hair.

Now originally I was going to use wool to make them thick in the middle but alas it didn't arrive in the mail do plan b craft foam. I cut 2 pieces of craft foam out and rolled them up, glued them together and put them between the hair . I then used elastic bands to HDTV the foam in the middle if the hair and allowed me to moce the hair around to ensure the foam base was covered up.

One that was done and ready I used hot glue and wrapped the ribon around the braids. First I wrapped the pink around and then the green over the top. Using little bits of hot glue to hold the ribbon in place.

Simple enough. I just cut a couple of straps off the shoes :)

Just a try on to see where I'm at. I still have the bandages on the wrists to do, add the purple ribbon onto the bottom of the trousers, style the wig a little more and attach my finished dagger to my belt sash.

After the sleeves were sorted I hemmed the bottom of the tunic and made the hat which was simple draw out, cut out and sewed up. Wooooo one tunic down And one to go

Second sleeve was a bit if a nightmare, after sewing it on it was smaller than the other sleeve, so I had to edit the other sleeve to make it smaller. But the sleeves are done

The tunic has now been stitched together, I then had to make a pattern for the sleeves again off the top of my head, so this was really a test to see if it would work, and luckily it did. So now the basic tunic is sewn together and one sleeve is done, attached, sewn and hemmed.

Ok so my bf gave me an old tunic to cut apart for the pattern. So I did exactly that, drew the design out pinned it together to find the pattern didn't fit together at all, the tunic being his first ever costume was made really off... And not gunna lie terrible. So I've chucked the tunic pattern and did a whole tunic pattern for his costume off the top of my head using his measurements, nightmare but redid it and pinned it together ready for sewing.

Jacket has now been seen together and hemmed, belt and scarf are
Complete and so is the top. All that's left is to add the purple to the bottom of the trousers and do tetras bandages on her wrists and the costume will be done

Costume before jacket editing, sewing and hemming, the puns while trying this on hurt so much lol

I created the pattern for the jacket by cutting up an old baggy top. I cut it to the shapes needed for the jacket, traced it onto the fabric and then cut the fabric out. I then pinned the pieces together, sewed it and hemmed it.

So I made my tetras belt out of the same fabrix as my scarf, a red stretch cotton. I. Simply measures round my hips then cut a large piece of fabric out of that length, I then folded the large piece of fabric over 3 times so the belt/ sash is very thick. I then hand sewed the hook and eyes on the back f the belt so it's hooks up at the back :d

Once u sewed the hat up all I had to do was hem the bottom of the tunic. Which is now done so the basic outfit is finished and ready for Ayacon.

Ok so the skyknight girls in skyward sword have round hats but I decided to stick with the tradition tunic of the hero look and went with the original hat. Plus it's a lot easier to make. I drew out the pattern for the hat, cut it out and folded it over and pinned it to create the hat shape. All that was left was to sew it :D

After the main part of the tunic was sewn together it was time to do the sleeves, using the old sleeves from my old tunic I drew around them to get the basic shape, cut them out, then pinned them round the sleeve gaps. First sleeve was fine, second sleeve I had a couple of problems with it XD but hey if your not suffering its not cosplay

I then took the tunic pattern, turned it inside out and pinned the back and front together to get the basic shape. I then also drew out the shape on the front of the tunic for the chest.

So I started this by lying the fabric out and drawing round a tunic I made a while back but never completed. This gave me the pattern i needed :)! After the pattern was drawn out I then cut it out. The tunic is made of a poly cotton and the colour is based of skyward sword Zeldas dress colour. Next time I will use a different fabric and poly cotton just sucks haha.

Scarf pattern was drawn using an old base scarf I had that when folded matched tetras scarf shape, I drew round the scarf cut it out and done, luckily tetras scarf ties up at the back like mine :) to make the scarf I used a red stretch cotton.

So this being my version 3 of Jessica I have never focused on her stupid waist and hip shape. So this time I have decided to work on that, this corset is designed to give me a 22" waist and is steel boned. . . Oh I can feel the pain already XD

The costume has been bought, and will hopefully be with me within the next 4 weeks

So after a lot of thought I have decided I'm going to hand make and hand embroid the cloak, doing some research I found a spot on cloak pattern mcCalls 5957 pattern. I have also bought my cloak fabric, I have gone with black dress velvet

So my hubert glasses turned up! And I am so happy with them! They took me forever to find as Hubert's glasses aren't a usual design -_- but I found them and I'm so happy :D

So I've decided I'm going to buy this cosplay off a shop on ebay who have made it rather well, but it will need some tweaking when t arrives :)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FF-VIII-Final-Fantasy-8-Quistis-Trepe-Cosplay-Costume-/190560275793?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c5e470d51&_uhb=1

So after looking at quistis facially I can determine her make up, she wears very light make up, only a little bit of eyeliner and between red/skin coloured lips, may need contacts to, her eyes are bright blue XD

So raye chan has decided to do ball gown Rinoa for once of the evenings of Ayacon! So I have decided to join her as quistis, I bought fairyporchqueens wig about 2 years ago and still advent had a chance to wear it, but noooow I get to, hopefully doing this version of quistis will get me motivated to do her orange one to XD

I already own these iron fist heels! There gorgeous plus there the same blue as the dress, the only problem they have is they have sequin skulls on them annnnnd the shoes are really really high -_- so we will see whether I wea these or buy new shoes

Going through ebay I found the perfect dress for tifa! All it needs is the triangle shape in the chest bit and its ready to go! Was so lucky with this dress it was only £11.99 and I got the last one in blue! Wooo

Ok, so spent forever again with SlimDefinition (love her she found these for me) as we didn't want to make hubert... Well look like a cross dresser with high heels haha! However hubert is very tall, and I'm not, plus raye-chan who is doing pascal is taller than me by 4 inches, luckily these shoes give me 5 inches which will mean I will be taller than pascal in these hallelujah! XD

Ok Hubert's hair.... I have decided is so evil -_- so so evil! The style changes..... And the colour... The colour changes so many times in the game, in game/cgi and also official art pictures of him... His shade of hair is always a different colour! So I'm going to go with the in game colour, as its the richest blue out of the 3 and it took me and SlimDefinition to find a wig colour I was finally happy to use for him XD! As I've been very picky with his wig, especially since I'm a girl and will be cross playing him... Wig is important for the look XD just need to wait for it to get here now!

The crown was def the hardest part of this costume for me, i started off by buying a thin wooden dowel and painting it silver.
The i cut it into 3 pieces, one long bit for the main crown and 2 little bits for the top of the crown, the main piece of wood was glued to a black hairband for extra support on my head.
THe fish like detailing on the ends of the stick, i made using fimo, the shapes were cut out using a knife, then i drew the detailing in while the fimo was still soft using a pen, then they were baked, I used fimo effects metallic silver.
To create the crown piece on her face i used fimo again, rolled it out into small thin lines of fimo, and twirled them around each other to make the shape, that was then baked for 30 minutes, afterwards i used a red jewel from my serah farron bracelet for midna's facial jewel.

So i did a hair test using my own hair, since the plan was i have long blonde hair, i showed some friends and family and they said it looks fantastic, but being a perfectionist and really wanting this costume to be spot on, my hair is to long, and i don't want to cut it, and my hair isn't stupidly thick like juliet's, soooo i have resorted to buying 2 thick ponytail extension clip ins, that match my hair colour. . . they arrived today and there beautiful. . . . and thick and perfect, there to long. . buuuuut i can sort that out :)

Ashika will be making my chainsaw, and im so thankful since she is able to make it within a month for me, thank you so much <3 i've paid her the 50% she needs to make it, ahhhh so excited i love her prop work <3

I have bought so far, the base shoes, base nick head and also his base wig, sweatband, watch and legwarmers :)

Unfortunatly im not going to get Etna done in time for amecon due to money. . so time to rewear princess garnet, Since wearing her, i have lost EVEN MORE WEIGHT which im so happy about :), The petticoat i wore with the dress to hyper japan spring wasn't big enough, but fear not, i have a bigger pettiocat for amecon :)

The tunic is nearly done, i was off sick from work wednesday but instead of lying around in bed i did my tunic instead XD, It still needs a little bit of neatening up, but to be fair with this i was lazy and used a massive t-shirt as the base to draw around. Im not sure about the belt orginal ocarina of time the belt is red, in the 3ds it is brown. . so im a little stuck now XD

Collar's are a body nightmare, in this shot it looks ok, but at the back it's roughly done, and loose threads and god knows what -_- basically under the collar is a mess right now, but here it is so far, i still need to take the tunic in, since my weight loss it;s now to big for me ><. . . . . for a guy who wear's basically a large shirt this was a pain in the arse, and omg is it hot -_- for all the link cosplayers from expo i feel foryou now, how on earth did you managed to wear this all day ><

So replaying ocarina of time and looking at images link's shoes are massively stupid, and i mean massive, his shoes are HUGE! So considering this i have thought of 2 idea's. . .
A. Boot cover's and wearing hiking shoes that are 3 sizes bigger than my feet, or
B. Buying a pair of massive hiking boots and taking them apart to build up the leather boots to make myself. . . . hmm

So i've decided. . if im going to have the mirror sheld, in the game link would also have the silver gauntlets at this point as there both items gained in the spirit temple. I know exactly how to do the detailing. . it's the actual gauntlets im stuck on ><

After much debating i've decided i can't cosplay boa without her trustly friend salome by my side, so i've decided to have salome commisioned, im talking to some fantastic plushie makers and seeing what they can do for me :)

My wig commision turned up today, and its nothing like I asked for... I'm really dissapointed, but its wearable, so ill be wearing it for kita, and then redoing the wig myself after kitacon

SO after not being happy with this, i remade mosty everything. . . . the choker, armbands and legbands have been redone, i used gold lycra :), the skirt has been taken up by 4 inchs as it was to long.
both the top and the skirts hearts have changed colour from red, to pink, by repainting with pink metallic glitter acrylic paint :)

The reference won't make it's mind up whether pantys hearts are pink or red - seeing pictures and watching the video over and over, it changes based on angle. However after seeing pictures of the official figures, it is indeed pink, so i have bought some paint and will be repainting them today :)

finally found a wig from this website :) http://matchwigs.com/5-buy-cosplay-wigs

Okmy adjustable manniuen has finally turned up, which means i can finally start on this project :)
however im stuck on what fabric to pick, either a white jersy fabric, or be different and use a holographic fabric for that dazzle look for the costume >>

And finally after we felt happy with all the layers we put on, We took the arm off our friend, it took some time to take it off him but we finally got there :). So now we have the mold of the arm!!! i wish i could say me and vexer are close to finishing the latex arm. . . but we have a long way to go. . and thats juston the arm part, not the rest of our costumes -cry-

3 layers later, Here we have the arm progress, Each layer had to be done one at a time, air dryed/ hair dryer, then another layer added and so on and so forth. This picture is of the arm after it's 3rd layer was added and left to dry :3

Victims arm wrapped in clean film so that we could start making the latex arm, This was a risky move, originally we were just going to latex our friends arm, however due to him shaving her managedto cut himself a million times and as soon as we applied the latex he started to well scream in pain. So this was a plan i came up with, we weren't to sure if the latex was going to stick to te clean film to create the shape, however luck was on our side and it worked like a charm :)

after 2 identical shapes were cut out it was time to pin them together inside out and start sewing. New sewing machine is evil, it sews by itself without a pedal, it's like a ghost 00! Anyway, it was then sewn together, The top of the bodice had to be unstitched and re done twice to finally get the right shape i wanted at the bust front. Until my new adjustable manniquen turns up there isn't much more work i can do on the bodice.

Once my rubbish attempt was complete i moved onto the duchess satin. i made sure to shape the bodice a lot better on this attempt and im really happy with it. I did the bodice twice to ensure the fabric was thick

So i copied the shape of a corset i had onto this fabric, i decided to do a test run before i used my duchess satin because the real fabric was so expensive. The test went well and was pinned, unfortunatly this was the best i could do without a adjustable mannequin.

My blades are being commisioned from Vexter :) as her zidane blades are da bowwwse!!!!! XD and shes my trance zidane :)

not much to say, collar made, and then attached to shirt :)

heres my base shirt, needs a lot of work, but its a start :)

this is yet another thing that hangs off zidanes belts XD!!, I made this by taking apart a landyard, and then hooping the orange ribbon round the metal clip. Ta da :)

Second belt has no detailing on it, it's just oddly postitioned on zidane, via being attached off a hanging bit that comes off his first belt. This mini piece is attached under the first belt and comes down. I then used clips to attach the belt in the way that zidane has his :)

The buckle is madr out fo strong cardboad, however im probably going to make a new one as i don't like this one. Clips are at the back of it so i can attach it round my hips. Then buttons added via hot glue :)

Just the otherside of my face :)

My bought moogle plush weapon. . i have decided to name her boa :)

Purple lip stick (was to dark) so was then dabbed with the same purple eyeshadow im wearing on my eyes
Fake eyelashes. . there huge and really heavy. . but suit lulu very well :)
thick eyeliner at the bottom of eyes
Mascara

So after replaying the game, I have decided to aim my lulu make up to the ingame ref and official pictures. So....
-Purple lips
-black outline on eyelids wih a tink of purpletrailing at the top
-Dark eyebrows
-slight tint of blush on cheeks
-thick mascara
-Long eyelashes on top
-Long purple nails
. . will be doing my test tommorow :)

I purchased themagicalLucys old zidane wig :) i love it sooo much

Made from my collection of beads i made, using superglue

my beads for zidanes jewellery :) before i used them

So beth wanted to enter the double cosplay award. . . which means i actually have to get this finished now. . . in less than 2 weeks. . . ok. . no need to panic XD

Here is some wig progress, The plaits were done by me, by taking hair from the ponytail extension itself, and then glued into place.

The beads are made of homemade playdough i made myself along with food colouring :3

My new wig fiinally turned up. . only 3 weeks bloody late >

The original plan was i was going to buy a dress, but to no avail. . there were not pure sequin dresses on ebay that i could use for jessica rabbit. I didn't want to buy a jessica fancy dress costume because, there not very fitted and ust don't look nice lol.
So the only thing was to make it, so i bought the fabric (sequin fabric tis very itchy unfortunatly so it ends up scratching my skin ><)
Then i looked at the fabric and goiiiing "Uhhh where the hell do i begin".
Anyway while at work a friend said, i used to be a seamstress before coming into childcare, I owe so much to her, she showed me how to do certain things, made quiet a bit of this dress to, so i owe so much to her <3 thank yooou

4 coat hangers and 2 hours later it floats!!! i made a hole in the scarf, and threaded the wire through, bent it into shape and then stitched into place, never again!

part 3 - The hair band is made out of stretchy polyester, spuerglue and velcro, im pretty happy wit it especially because it is my first attempt. The braids have been put into place, by being plated and then glued to the base wig., However it is nowhere near finished, i am waiting for a wig to turn up to do the thickness of the ponytail that falls to the front, and to do the rest of the braids

part 3 - The hair band is made out of stretchy polyester, spuerglue and velcro, im pretty happy wit it especially because it is my first attempt. The braids have been put into place, by being plated and then glued to the base wig., However it is nowhere near finished, i am waiting for a wig to turn up to do the thickness of the ponytail that falls to the front, and to do the rest of the braids

Part 2 - Clip in ponytail was straightened, and clipped into the back of the wig, it has been clipped right into the wig cap of the wig, It has also been superglued into place =]

Rikkus hair is extremely thick, so i knew one wig was not going to be enough for this hair style. So hve bought a base wig, a clip on ponytail, and hair extensions for the braids.

Part 1 - This is the base wig alone before work started

Omg it's the little things that make a big difference, lust was one of the first cosplays i ever made, and my undeveloped cosplay brain would of never thought to use felt to make the circles then superglue them on, but oh well. So yeah basically i drew cicles on felt, cut them out and glued them on, i love them!!

Yeah it's a wooden dowel i spray painted blue, the achievement! Im so proud XD

Blue sparkly fabric for the bit at the end, superglued on. . and craft foam for the cone, painted gold, tis finished ^^

Finished painting, then attached ribbon at the bottom. Then made 2 circles out of craft foam and superglued to the bottom. Then painted it white.

I pulled the cable out, and painted it with silver acrylic paint

So anyway how luck was this, i find the perfect fabric|! Thanks to cosplay.com. I put up on there i have serah planned and write im in the process of finding fabric for serah. An american cosplayer emails me saying, she had fabric specially made for her serah cosplay, and has enough left over to make another skirt. I can't believe my luck sooo here is my fabric =D

I have also started on serahs hairband, i want to get it as accurate as possible, thanks to this amazing tutorial.
# 1 transparent pear gem
# 2-4 round magenta gems/beads
# 2-4 round transparent gems/beads
# 2-4 dangling bells or pearls(choose either or)
# jewelry wire or headpins

I have started on serahs bracelet, after looking at many ref pictures and an amazing tutorial, I have broken down serahs bracelet and am currently working on it now.
# 1 ruby pear gem
# 2-4 round magenta gems/beads
# 2-4 round brown/orange-ish gems/beads
# 2-4 dangling bells or pearls(choose either or)
# jewelry wire or headpin

This is the wig i have purchased from the lovely ebay, will wait till it arrives and then i can debate whether its to long for nico robin or not =]

My old hair braid i made for my gunner yuna. easy to make and very happy with it so i will be rewearing it for this version of yuna to ^^.

I have studied many ref images of her costume, Parts of her costume including her cape, waist corset and top are extremely thick. So what i have decided to do, is purchase thick wadding to make the base cape and waist corset out of. Once i have cut out the base shapes, i will attach the main fabric i am using for the costume so the wadding is hidden in the middle of te fabric, and that it gives the thickness to this costume. I will also have to do this on the purple pattern on the cape, as the pattern is 3D.

Izumis hair is 100% dreadlocks,i rewatched the entire anime over again because i felt like it and studied her hair movement, and it is little dreadlocks. so for starters im going to have to purchase a dreadlock wig.

Ahhh yes i have decided to rewear her for one of the days of London mcm expo otober 2010 and maybe for the cosplay fever launch party. Last time i used an immense amount of hairspray for the dolphin blow. Now i know how to do the dolphin blow and keep it up ^^ so will be cleaning the wig up a bit. And re adding velcro to the places it is required =D.

To be warn with my friend who is redoing barret for me again ^^ yaaaaaaay!!

I got them yesterday because they were on offer and i was like MUST HAVE!!! I bought ones with black outline because Mai, with her make up and coloured eyes, has very dark eyes, so the purple will be highlighted better with these. Not tried them on yet as i have been to busy, so will try them one some time next week.

I wanted to try and make mais hair as accurate as possible, however my skills are nowhere near ready for this level. So wig is currently being done by Lulu_rose who is so far doing an amazing job on it. WIll be recieveing the wig through the mail any day now and im so excited to see what it looks like completed ^^.

The skirt has now been dyed, and has took the dyed VERY well so im really happy so far ^^. The shade is Intense Violet, the skirt still needs taking in as it's a bit to long for mai. But nearly there with the skirt now ^^.

My duel disk came through the mail after my one was broken >< cost quiet a bit but im very happy with having one now for my harpie lady deck =D. Can't do battle city mai without a duel disk ^^.

Well the basics of mais outfit. All bought off ebay however heavy editing and dyeing of many items is required. But yes finally startd it off =].

Well here is half my coat progress, the coat so far without the sleeves, Basically took measurments round the back, folded the front of the materia till it met the halfway measurement of me. . and stitched XD, then cut the sides so my arms could do through. . wow so described isn't it XD

Wig came ages ago and i have just left it until now XD. The wig came styled like this. So far i have cute the wig, neatened it up and bought some awesome stuff that i know will keep his bangs up and odd strand of hair up. So the wig is getting there =D

Using my dissidia book i studied terras waist fabrics so i could get them as close to accurate as possible, Seen from the picture she has 3 main ones to start with (from top to bottom) First one is pink with purple diamonds across it, the middleone is just a plain aqua colour and the bottom one is purple with white stripes. Underneath them all she has a plain yellow one to, and the fabric by her dagger has nothing to do with these waist fabrics, there seperate fabric attached around the dagger. Working on the purple one with white stripes as this one will take up the most time. hopefully with any luck it will be finished tonight ^^.

Well i looked through a lot of pictures and videos of this woman XD to finally decide if she is ginger or red because so many people fight about it, and in my opinion it is ginger! it is def ginger, but it is a deep ginger yay a colour thats hard to get hold of.

Here are my base boots for amano yuna, as you can see very plain and boring, thats gunna change loool XD, These will be decorted with beads, sequins and embroidery, Progress will be up of me working on the boots in a couple of weeks.

The reason i went or suede boots is because there a lot easier to embroid than leather boots XD

Anyway here we are 1 hour later with all the flowers done, Im really happy with how it came out, the areas where there are no flowers will be where i hold the staff, Can't hold areas with the flowers on ^^ otherwise they will all just fall off the staff XD.

Me adding more flowers onto the staff, These were just stuck on with glue, And the beading coming out of the flowers was done my me to give them a more 3D Effect ^^.

Once i had finished adding the green swirls i got to the exciting yet annoying part. Aerith is known as a flower girl and in my amano design i wanted to keep that look within her, During the time when i was sketching out my design ( fusionrose has a better sketch of the design though XD) I decided that i wanted a different look to her staff, In this idea i kept the idea from the amano drawing of a black as staff, And the green swirls came from the fact my amano aerith will be carrying green materia. So i thought of the idea of flowers growing off the staff, was not to sure if it would look good but seeing the staff now it looks like it has, I went with gold because it matches the jacket and cape i will be making for amano aerith.

Once i had finished spray painting the staff, and once it was dry, I added swirls down the entire staff, I did this the same way i did the red ones on garnets staff, I used coloured stickly tape, This way it looks a lot neater than painting the swirls down the staff ^^.

I bought a wooden dowel from wicks, and left it in my room for over a month lol, i just gave up on trying to start amano aerith for a whole, But last night i bought a dress mannequin!!! Yes finally now i know i can make the amano dress hehe. Anyway All i did was buy black spray paint, and sprayed the staff ^^.

Oh yes, amano is another version of garnet i really want to do, i held her off till i at least did orange boydsuit garnet, And with trance almost finished, i need a new garnet project, Again this will be my own original design, Now i have 2 amano designs in my head, One is sort of based off the amano art which is yellow bodysuit and embroidery up the side of then entire bodysuit, the embroidery will either be orange, gold or green, or maybe a mixture of all 3.

The other idea, is a white bodysuit, and embroidery detail up the legs and body, the white bodysuit will allow the embroidery i do to stand out more, however that causes problems with the shirt as i can't wear white again ¬¬ and the fact my/her hair is white as amano as well. . . .

Basically i started with getting my auntie to sketch out the leaf pattern onto the bodice while i wore it ( this way it would be more accurate), Once that was done i bought 1000 meters of green thread to ensure i didn't run out and then end up uying the wrong colour again lol. Now it was ready for the embroidery to begin.

Again the ff9 amv isn't very clear on details of this costume ¬¬ damn it XD, But agter watching it i noticed she has somewhat of a triangluar bow pattern going on, so thats what im currently doing now, Again these were made out of craft foam, glued together then spray painted, They need the added bits of green detail, the metal chain hanging off the that goes under my elbow and round to the otherside of the armour, and attached to the armwarmers and its done ^^.

For some reason in the ending amv her hair clip has 2 different looks, a the start of the amv it has 2 layers and has "buttons on it" However the rest of the amv and in the official art it's a normal clip with a stick through it, So Im going to go with the official hair clip she wears.
This has been the simplest bit of the costume, all it is, is craft foam, glued together at the ends, It was then spray painted gold and the hair was threaded through easily. Then i spray painted a chop stick XD, all i have to do now, is make the holes in the clip and put the stick through, The stick gives it the finished detail but will also be going through the hair, locking the clip in place =D.

Once i found a long chain i attached that to the pendant so i could wear it, then i painted the clay with silver acrylic paint, and that finished then pendant off =]

once the red paint was dry enough for me to touch i did the rest of the areas with green paint and then hair dryed them again, and ta da, but there are loads of mistakes =[ but i will edit those. I know the staff sucks lol, but i have not made a lot of weapons in my time ;)

After spending an hour drying the paper clay with a hair dryer i finally got down to painting it, i drew the lines on the ball with a blunt pencil and then painted it, then used a hair dryer to dry it for another 30 minutes.

Basically i wa going to paint then lines of the staff on, but with the lack of time, i grabbed some red tape i had and swung it round the staff for the pattern XD
the tape i used is usually for wires but it worked wonders for the pattern ^^

fail fail! the staff looks horrible, im so sorry, anyway the triangle bit was not working, i couldn't get it to shape, so i just did what you see. Note to self get better at using paper clay ^^

Ok so i started spray painting the wooden dowel. . . that was simple enough apart from the fact it has been raining the past 2 days and this staff needs to be done for saturday morning >< damn the art festival better be worth it lol. I went to paint the styrofoam ball with paper mache on it, Well that didn't work all the cracks from the paper mache showed through and it looked horrible. So i pulled all of the paper mache off, and spray painted the styrofoam ball again. The paint melted the ball!!! omg i couldn't believe i was so angry ><. Anyway just when i thought all hope was lost, the mail came and so did my paper clay, thank god, i covered the melted ball with paper clay and did my best to make it as flat as possible which failed so now the ball of my staff is going to be lumpy!

I want it to look really elegant, with my design the dress will obviously be pink still lol, i decided to go with a nice pink satin XD i normally HATE SATIN, but i believe the satin will contrast with the gold colours in this outfit, hehe we will just have to see, will be a challenge to make the dress out of this fabric o.0.

Just an image of some of the beads i have brought for this outfit, as the main colours are pink, white gold and green i wanted beads to match, and omg. . . i have so so many lol XD

Ok i brought a styrofoam ball for the head of the staff and a wooden dowel for the stick of the staff, the wooden dowel was to long, as garnets staffs are shorter than her, so i cut the wodden dowel and this is what i have so far

These were brought of ebay for really cheap lol, im currently working on the belts that will go on the gloves

The lace was done with eyelets that i hammered together to keep them firm, and because the fabric im wearing is stretchy i then glued them inside the tiny gap to ensure they stayed in place, the lace is just sone orange ribbon that is so pretty =]

The puffs on the sleeves were done by threading in and out and pulling the thread tightly so the puffs were created in the sleeves.

Painted with silver metallic paint, i did 3 layers to check all areas were painted nicely and evenly, and the pendant is now finished =]

I brought some clay to make the crown, unfortunatly the clay was awful and wouldn't stick together or take shape, so i just had to do the crown ontop of the pendant quickly, then took me A LOT OF GLUE, to get that pendant to stay in place, then i brought some curtain pins and put one ontop of the crown while it was drying so i could put the chain through and wear it as a necklace.

after studying other garnet cosplays on cosplay.com a friend told me what was the name of the jewel she used for her garnet pendant, so i looked on ebay and found a couple, however no one makes the jewels very big like garnets actually is, so i had to settle for the biggest i could find, i made sure i brought one that shined green in the light as when eiko and garnet connect the pendant does indeed shine green.

After 1 hour on each leg i got both belts done on the legs, i stitched originally with black thread as a guideline, and now have pulled all the threads out and re stitched them with orange thread.

Got the belts, edited them a little bit as the straps were far to long and thick so i gave them a trim, the nightmare was i had to wear the bodysuit while stitching them onto my legs as the fabric had to be stretched, otherwise the belts would be stitched in the wrong places of fabric and then my legs wouldn't get into my bodysuit, i pinned myself about 20 times lol.

once the bodysuit was ready to have details added to it. . . i thought right belts, yes there not perfect but i was happy with them, this is just a picture of the side of the bodysuit before i started on the belts

once the red paint was dry enough for me to touch i did the rest of the areas with green paint and then hair dryed them again, and ta da, but there are loads of mistakes =[ but i will edit those.

After spending an hour drying the paper clay with a hair dryer i finally got down to painting it, i drew the lines on the ball with a blunt pencil and then painted it, then used a hair dryer to dry it for another 30 minutes.

Basically i wa going to paint then lines of the staff on, but with the lack of time, i grabbed some spre red tape i had and swung it round the staff for the pattern XD

fail fail! the staff looks horrible, im so sorry, anyway the triangle bit was not working, i couldn't get it to shape, so i just did what you see.

And once the bracelets had dried i painted them with silver paint, was not thick paint though was water acrylic paint that is meant for air brushing lol though ebay never said that >< so anyway it still worked hehe and now there finished ready for my aerith. . . . now i have to start on the jacket ><.

The bracelets were easy, craft foam which was cut into strips then glued ontop of each other, i picked white craft foam because i will be painting these with silver acrylic paint and white is the easiest colour to paint ^^. But here is the base of the bracelets done.

This costume is now coming with me to kitacon 2010, Aerith is my favourite character ever, and used to be my trademark character, still is with a phew of my mates ^^, and i didn't get time to dye the dress before i took it to expo, which really did upset me =[, so before i go to kitacon i will be dyeing it so it's a lot more pink hehe, may even edit my jacket to aeriths original so i can do original aerith ^^.

Woooh the base wig came, it didn't take long to style either as it was quiet a short base wig anyway, took pictures at my aunties and it is at my aunties lol i left it there by accident buuut she only lives a 30 minute walk away so i can go get it before kitacon, Garnets hair is not black, it is a very very dark brown, which is the shade i have used for this wig. =]

Made the same way as my tifa arm guard, paper mache, and cardboard, this sticks by velcro which is on the foot guard and the shoes i will be waering as tifa, at least once there painted.

Made of simple paper mache, cardboard and a layer of soft foam so i could bend it into shape before paper macheing it. if anyone wants to know then do feel free to ask me, after a couple of layers it was strong enough and when i wear it . . it so rock hard it really does feel like armour! Once it was dry i painted it, painted some 3d round stickers, and stuck them ontop for the effect tifa's arm guard has. Now i have to put velcro on the ribbon i have attached to the arm guard so i know it will stay on my elbow without coming off and breaking ><.

Now loads of people do tifa different waya, because there is 2 main pieces of official art of her, same as aerith. The official art from back in the Ps1 game, and the new official art of the characters in high definition, I am basing my tifa on the old official art or known as the original. There are many differences between the old and new art, and i love the dolphin tail at the end of her hair, so i have to do original tifa ^^.

As you can see, the 2 official arts of kairi in her school uniform are both different, one is dark blue and the other light blue, one she seems to have longer hair and the other one short, I have based my kairi costume on the image you see next to this joural, I prefer the dark blue, i think it's beautiful and her hair looks more dark red than in the other piece of art where it looks brown ^^.

Most people miss out garnets pendant, but not me lol XD, and omg was this a nightmare, the crown is made put of clay and is still not finished, i have wrapped the string that is on the jewel around a metal curtail hanger, which was then pushed into the clay and then glue was put over the top. It has still a phew things left to be done.

Yesterday i ordered a plain wig off cosplay.com for kairi, the colour looked very accurate and the seller lives in the uk so i know it will get to me safely. All in all this cosplay should be finished in 2 weeks lol.
Once the wig gets here i will style it to kairi's hair, which won't be to hard considering all her hair is, is feathered and layerd.
