3rd June 2011: Painting the hammer After sanding down the hammer. Used black and dark brown acrylic paints. Set dry. The spray painted silver. Then another layer. Then added silver polish for frames onto the corners.
3rd June 2011: Pole attached Attached a mop handle to the now dry hammer head
2nd June 2011: Plaster progress Plaster placed on the hammer head in strips, letting it dry
2nd June 2011: Block shaped Hammer shaped with scissors, file and pencil knife
1st June 2011: Floral foam arrived Floral foam arrived.Need one block to start doing the hammer

You've used interesting materials for the hammer and it looks great!
Did you have any problems with the foam denting? I guess once the plaster's on it's pretty solid.
Sailorette - 9th January 2012 Thanks xD I was really worried the plaster would dent in the floral foam as it's so delicate, but the plaster strip dried instantly so there weren't any problems. Much better than using paper mache as originally planned, because that turned into a huge mess O__O luckily I bought a few blocks of floral foam if I messed up xD
