M.Kesaiyn - Zidane Tribal - 5th July 2022

That weird steampunk 'switchblade style' (orichalcum) dagger Zidane has in his left hand... It's been quite challenging to figure out and it had a more 3D look to it so I've sought a way to build it differently from other props.

The handle and blade are corrugated card/craft foam (blade wrapped in masking tape to seal the edges down) + worbla; the cover for the mechanism part is foam, the inside is filled with foam clay, and there are two fibreglass cores (the first is in the mechanism part embedded in the handle, and the other is in the middle holding the blade part in place). I'm padding it out with more foam clay before I seal it up and paper mache it ready for all those lovely awkward details to be added on afterwards.
